D4 Alert - Major Construction Incident Notification (MCIN)

Challenge 

The D4 management needed to be notified immediately when major accidents or incidents occurred. The previous MCIN application was manual, lacked a database and lacked the ability to efficiently provide for real-time communication of major construction incidents.  

Solution 

The D4 Alert - Major Construction Incident Notification tool (D4-MCIN) is a software application which would enable field staff to complete the MCIN CEM-0603 form quickly and easily in real time and immediately have it e-mailed and texted to D4 management and stored in a database. The D4 Alert-MCIN application was the solution to not having a fluent incident notification system and lacking a database in which to store the incident information.

Result  

• The D4 Alert-MCIN application facilitates real-time documentation of a major accident or incident.

• Faster and more efficient communication when major incidents occur. E-mail and text notifications are immediately sent upon completion of the MCIN CEM0603 form.

• Incidents are maintained in a database so that incidents and accompanying documentation are searchable and easy to find.

• The application is simple to access while in the field, using a cell phone or iPad.

• The D4 Alert-MCIN application is visible to D4 construction managers and staff.
